James Dean

James Byron Dean (ur. 8 lutego 1931 w Marion, zm. 30 września 1955 w Cholame) – amerykański aktor filmowy, telewizyjny i teatralny.

Niedługo po śmierci stał się ikoną popkultury, jak również światowego kina i nonkonformistycznej postawy życiowej, co czego przyczyniła się przede wszystkim rola zbuntowanego nastolatka Jima Starka w filmie ''Buntownik bez powodu''. Pozostałe dwie znaczące produkcje z jego udziałem, ''Na wschód od Edenu'' i ''Olbrzym'', chociaż wszystkie powstały w okresie, gdy aktor dopiero zdobywał sławę, umocniły jego status w kulturze masowej, który przypieczętowała nagła śmierć Deana.

Amerykański Instytut Filmowy umieścił go na 18. miejscu na liście największych aktorów wszech czasów (''The 50 Greatest American Screen Legends'').
