Now a decade later we find ourselves with the same challenge. Some of the chapters in this new volume offer definitions, including those by Jones; Dam, Lundgren, and Scholtens; Voegtlin and Scherer; Renko and Freeman; Lim; and Doh, Husted, and Marano. Their definitions vary somewhat, but the basic theme is that increasingly corporations recognize responsibilities to society and engage in activities that contribute to social good, beyond what is required by law or profit maximization." |
